damned_colonial and my other Australian friends, on last night's "Tip of the Hat/Wag of the Finger" segment of "The Colbert Report." Stephen gave the Australian prime minister both a tip of the hat AND a wag of the finger, and I laughed forever. (So much that I've actually forgotten what the PM said about Obama...oh yeah, "If I were running al-Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory, not only for Obama but also for the Democrats." Article).
First Stephen praised the sentiment, because of course he would, and then he unleashed this beauty:
"" . . . Listen, you sawed-off wallaby! I know 'Fosters' is Australian for 'beer,' but what's Australian for 'shut yer damn trap'? Keep your shrimp-stained fingers off Barack Obama! Leave the ad hominem attacks on him to Americans. Why don't you go back to worrying about your little cane toad problem and the fact that your whole damn country is descended from criminals? Oh, and the next time you're waltzing with Matilda? You might wanna check out her Adam's apple, 'cause she's a DUDE!"
I wish he'd do that with every country in the world. It really could have come straight from Bill O'Reilly's mouth. Oh, Stephen.
