Oh, I am so very VERY bitter at not having access to "The Tudors" on Showtime. Y'all might know that the Tudors are my absolute favorite period of history, in all their grand, beautiful, dirty, stubborn, selfish, soapy, scheming, plotting, warring, lying, rule-breaking, fucked-up, faith-breaking, faith-making glory. And it is full of good-looking, awesome actors -- I am very fond of JRM, but I fracking love Sam Neill. God, just bring it on, bring it ALL on. At least Yahoo has the first two episodes online (haven't watched them yet). Maybe Showtime will put the rest of them up? Or they'll pop up on Peekvid? *hopeful*

ETA: I forgot fucked-up. How on EARTH could I have forgotten fucked-up?

I watched those episodes on Showtime's Web site a couple of weeks ago and they are amazing! I just hope they come out on DVD soon. Maybe this summer.

Yeah, it'll take awhile, but it'll happen. Luckily it's not something I consider able to be spoiled, so it should be easy to keep up with -- I'm reading TWoP for the second season of "Rome" even though I won't be able to see it until the DVD release.

The second season of "Rome" is nowhere near as good as the first season. It was good, but I lost interest after the first couple of episodes.

Oooo, I didn't know Sam Neill was a part of that. Now I'm interested (and frustrated - I don't have showtime either).

Are you also a rabid Sam Neill fan? I don't know what it is about him, but he just rocks. And he's terrific in this. You can watch the first two eps either on Yahoo or Showtime's page.

I'm not a rabid Sam fan, but I've loved everything I've seen him in (starting with "My Brilliant Career"). And I was half-way interested in that series to begin with. (My *$%#! dial-up will prevent me from watching it on-line. :-/)

There are some places on Livejournal from which you could probably download them later. I can hook you up.

I didn't realize that I could pull up the first two episodes of "The Tudors" on my OnDemand until your post--I've been chomping at the bit for this series since it was announced a few months ago, and now that I've just watched both episodes in quick succession, I must say that it is everything I imagined it would be AND MORE. It's so good. The Tudors are probably one of my favorite dysfunctional families in history (the others being the Medicis, the Khans, the Kennedys, and the Tokugawa Shogunate dynasty) and oh my god, JRM. JRM, as the hottest Henry VIII I have ever seen, ever. I can't wait for you to watch it just so I can see your reaction!

Dude, I am loving it. JRM is so pouty and vain and easily manipulated -- he's perfect. And I'm loving Wolsey, More and Katherine. Damn you, premium cable! ::shakes fist:: I went through this with "Rome," but I'm not nearly so fond of that history as I am of the Tudors.
