British pound hits 26-year high vs. U.S. dollar

But, he said, the British shouldn't be too happy about that because "their bottom line may be in for a caning". (Yes, he actually said that! Without laughing!) It seems the British equivalent of our Federal Reserve thinks their economy is heating up too fast, and may raise their interest rates any day now, which is likely to make the pound's value in comparison to the dollar drop.
So maybe it won't be so bad come October. :)
(I tried to find a clip of the story on NPR, but no luck.)
