::mutters:: The Post website spams me with scads of popups.

Hmm, looks like Kerry won again. Go Kerry. I'm really not all that concerned about this race. I don't care who wins, I just want somebody other than the Shrub governing this country for the next four years.

Well, actually, that's not true. I want whoever's most likely to beat him to win. And though my knee-jerk choice would be Dean, I think the fact that he's not "inside" Washington will hurt him in the long run. I admire it on a personal level, but it's not gonna work in his favor. I like Clark too, though. I think the progress he's made in such a short time is pretty amazing. I definitely see Kerry as beginning to promote himself as a more middle-of-the-road candidate, and I think it'll work where it didn't for Lieberman.

But, bottom line: any Democrat. ANY DEMOCRAT.

I really must get my ass downtown...er...uptown from here...ANYWAY to D.C., park it in front of the White House, and shoot hate-rays at it. I managed a few when we stopped for a breather after graduation (I had to get those damn knee-high stockings off, and Aunt Nancy was all "Let's take pictures in front of the White House!"), but I don't think they were as needed then as they are now.

I miss my city! I miss Dupont. I miss the zoo, even after all the scandal. I still haven't checked out the spy museum, and I haven't tried the new gelato bar in the Natural History. Also, we skipped the weapons exhibit in American History last time we took Christopher down -- Dad was all "Yeah, I always loved to see the money and the weapons" and I said "There are weapons?!" Huh. Clearly it's evident that the American was never my favorite museum. Not like the Natural History. I could lead a fucking tour group in there, man. Although the new mammal hall has become this era's Gems & Minerals exhibit -- i.e. don't even think about going in there unless the place is totally empty. Stupid Hope Diamond, it was never exciting enough to warrant all those crowds, you'd think you were in the damn Air & Space. Which, speak of the devil, I haven't been to in years, since way before they remodeled it. And I've had, what, seven years to recover from my last visit to the Holocaust musuem, I think I'm capable of making another.

*whimper*

Wanna hang out in D.C. Wanna ride the carousel!

I'll be in Georgetown for Beth's baby shower, though, and I guess that'll have to do until I can plan a decent excusion. Maybe convince somebody to go clubbing with me.
