I have a new favorite summer TV show. "Creature Comforts," on CBS - it's like a sweet-natured "Crank Yankers" done by the "Wallace and Grommit" guys. Claymation animals are dubbed with real interviews with randon people on particular topics - this week it was looks, flying, and art. The sound bites by themselves are pretty funny, but with the animals I just giggled for the entire half-hour. Highlights: a guy talking about printmaking = a little beagle making pawprints on the rug; a hippie stoner couple = a pair of gap-toothed horses; a couple of older stewardesses = a flock of Canadian geese mid-flight; a girl pontificating about how art is making your mark on the world = a pigeon crapping on a statue. I don't know if I should be as amused as I was, but...I totally was, y'all.

In other TV news, I'm thrilled that "Big Love" is back. And, um, I've fallen prey to the reality TV monster - I fear "Pirate Master" (which is totally stupid, yes, but tallship!) and "Hell's Kitchen" will be the death of me. Don't look at me like that, it's not as if there's anything else on.

I'm rereading HP in anticipation of the July releases. Damn, but Rowling is good at world building. And funny. About halfway through CoS, which isn't my favorite because the main plotline is kind of lame (plus I know PoA is next and it's made of awesome), but Gilderoy Lockhart is comedy gold.

ETA: If you're a fan of Keira Knightley and/or photography, pick up the latest issue of Vogue. The interview isn't much, but the spread - Keira running about Africa pretending to Isek Dinesan in gorgeous clothing. Seriously, it's amazing. I know I've seen some icons from the shoot floating around, I need to find them again...

I finished CoS last week, and yes, Lockahrt cracks me up. I had forgotten about the parts where he talks to Harry, giving him advice about how to be noticed, and how he just assumed that Harry was like him.

Lockhart is terrific. I still hate Dobby, though...
