The swamp that is our nation's capital is currently sitting at 101 degrees with a heat index of 109.

Please, please send me positive vibes for all the Metro cars to be up, running, and fully air-conditioned. Yes, even the ones that have been operating for longer than my lifetime.

Okay, maybe just the Red line...

Good luck! It sounds like D.C. is about like my area of Ohio...

Ugh, the index was up to 115 in some part of MD today - it was awful.

My first summer of high school marching band, the heat index reached 115 for two days during our six days of band camp and the director wondered why I was sick all year. Hell, I could have told him it was because I lost 10% of my body weight because he made me march in that heat. I arrived there weighing 98 and came home weighing 89. It sucked.

Does your area at least have breezes?

Jesus Christ. That story wins.

No breeze in the city today. Which is good, actually, as it would've wafted the smells around. DC was particularly smelly today.

I remember that band camp was horrible because of the heat. Also, none of the cabins we were sleeping in had a/c! One reason I quit band...

I hate the smell of big cities without air circulation... Makes me sick. One reason to like San Francisco. The other is it rarely gets above 80, typically it is still chilly enough with the wind off the bay to need a lightweight long sleeve shirt

This is probably not a good time to mention the major delays at Dupont Circle....

Sorry
