Wooooo! It's football season! Just one more reason to love fall.
I think what I love about football is its type of overall field motion. The players run; then they stop; then they run again; then they stop again; then they run, etc. - in the same direction for at least a few counts of running. Basketball and soccer, with their constant motion back and forth, are too quick for me (but when there's good running in football, it's still pretty damn quick!)
In baseball, on the other hand, there's only running for a few minutes out of a long, interminable period of standing around. I will be completely frank about this: I fucking hate baseball. I think it's the most boring sport in the world to watch (with the except of golf). And I've had to live with it all summer - WHY are there what, 160 games? I can't watch 160 of anything! And the season goes on forfrickenever!
Dad says that I just don't understand it, which is unfair; I have a basic knowledge of the rules. Then when I complained about all the standing around (I will admit that runs are fairly exciting, but those are few and few between in the average game), he said haughtily that I didn't appreciate "the mind game between the pitcher and the batter." If I wanted to watch two men stare at each other intensely, I'd rent some gay porn, for serious. Augh, I really just despise baseball. You can attempt to convert me if you like, but I'll probably just headbutt you.
But back to wonderful, brutal, awesome football: it has running AND throwing AND kicking AND jumping AND sometimes dancing! And tight pants! It's the most perfect sport in the world.
However, I will be sulking at full capacity on Saturday, because my parents have tickets for the season opener and I DON'T GET TO GO ::pouts::
