the Dalaverse

Hokay, so. Soton Thanksgiving '07: a smashing success! My bits of turkey were actually VERY good, and my mashed potatoes, and the AMAZINGF sticky toffee pudding that my dear dear parents sent me - plus Kelley brought the rest of Thanksgiving in cluding the PIE, and Becca came and she's very funny, and Mehvash helped me with dinner and was great. And three guys from my hall, who seemed to be a little lost because we archaeologists WOULD talk shop for three hours after dinner, but they were nice about it. And there were, I think, four bottles of wine among four people, so that's pretty good, no?

My fingers still smell of garlic. And toffee sauce. Strangely this is not as disagreeable as it sounds, for on tHanksgiving all foods may live in peace together.

I hope you all (who celebrate it) are having/have had marvelous thanksgivings. Because mine, thought it was not home, was lovely.

P.S. my copy of Empire of Ivory arrive from Amazon today, and I cannot concentrate well enough to read it! Woe! I'm so EXCITED about it though!
