Whoa. 'Grey's Anatomy' hasn't made me cry like that in awhile. So Derek and Meredith are doing this clinical trial on brain tumor patients, and the patient this week is a (perfectly lovely but perpetually alone) lady who keeps saying that her boyfriend's coming. Her sister says there aren't any pictures of this guy Andre, and everyone thinks he's a hallucination because of the tumor - especially after her story of them meeting sounds just like Cinderella. So after they wait and wait for him, Derek finally convinces her that she's made him up, and she breaks down, and it's so sad.
And then I thought, 'Wait, no, they're not gonnna...' And they do, of course. Andre arrives while she's in surgery, and he is this absolutely beautiful man who clearly adores her. And her brain swells during surgery and she will never wake up. The last thought she had was that her damaged brain had made up the love of her life.
And then I cried. A lot. The soldiers last week were incredibly sad, but this patient just breaks my heart into tiny little pieces. I don't care about it being a relationship metaphor - patients are always relationship metaphors on this damn show.
Derek still sucks. I don't really like leaving Cristina where she is right now. But the Hahn/Callie kiss was kind of all right. George with baby Tuck was incredibly adorable. And Meredith saying 'Fix me' was awesome. The McDreamy thing has been dragged on and on, but Meredith Grey will always be awesome and Ellen Pompeo really kicks ass.
I meant to write today, but...I already spent too much time writing today. I meant to finish my paper at 3pm and I finished my paper at 3pm. And it was only 150 words short. Ugh. I have laptop keyboard vision. Going to watch movies with Mehvash.
