Armchair internet medical diagnosis, anyone?
There is something wrong with my left eye. At first I thought it was my contact - that's the permanent one and I know there is buildup on it because it's pretty old, so I figured it was reaching the point of discomfort that means I need to order a new one. When I have the contact in, it causes a small stab of pain/discomfort for me to look over to the left and up to the left, although all other directions are fine. It also bothers me slightly to blink.
When I took the contact out, the discomfort remained. Looking in various directions doesn't do it; it happens when I blink. This makes me think that it's something waaaay up under my top eyelid. When I pull that eyelid up and move my eye around, nothing happens; but when I close my eye and probe the top half, it hurts again. Last night I pulled my eyelid up as far as I could and didn't see anything on the eyeball (it's only very slightly inflamed) or under the lid, but then I couldn't really see anything but the very edge of the underside of the lid. I tried flushing it out with saline, but that didn't help.
It's not a severe pain, more like a small irritation; however, my concern is that this small irritation might cause more lasting damage to the eye (it's been going on for certain a few days now, might be longer than that - like I said, I assumed it was my contact so I didn't pay it much attention before). I went on WebMD today and found this article on eye pain. I've had a sty before and I don't think it's that - the eye isn't really red, plus the eyelashes don't seem to be involved. It predates my cold, so I don't think it's an infection. My guess is that it's a foreign body or a scratch from a foreign body, which kind of freaks me out because it hasn't worked its way out by now.
So I'm a bit worried and I'm wondering if any of this sounds familiar to you guys, and what you think I should do. My heinous sight is enough of an eye problem for me, seriously.
ETA: I called my eye doctor's office and she said it sounded like blocked mucus membranes, and to try putting hot compresses on the eye today and tomorrow (no contacts). If it doesn't get better by tomorrow afternoon, I'll call them about coming in. Will keep y'all updated.

I wear contact lenses and I had something that sounds similar. I actually had some bumps on the underside of the eye which you couldn't see with the naked eye. It comes from irritation on the underside of the eyelid usually from contact lenses that have a lot of protein deposits on them.
