quick question

Can anyone tell me how to get file extensions to show up on file icons(so I can change an .xyz file back to .avi, for instance)? I've done it several times but I still can't remember. I think it's in the control panel somewhere...?

Tools > Folder Options > view and then untick the box for "Hide extensions for known file types".

Did it work?
