I have a question for y'all. I'm trying to look for a pair of jeans that I can wear with my nice black riding-style boots and my totally adorable black-and-white plaid wellies, as well as any other boots I may acquire. But the ones I own and prefer are boot-cut or flared, usually too long because I'm short, and they do not fit comfortably under the wellies or at all under the knee-high boots; there's simply too much material at the bottom.
So I'm asking for suggestions for jeans with a slimmer fit in the calf (...I'm just gonna have to say skinny jeans, aren't I? ::shudders::). I've never even tried on a pair of skinny jeans because a. I am not skinny and b. I think they're horrid in general. But they seem to be pretty much the only kind you can wear under close-fitting boots. And I love my boots, and I can only wear them in fall/winter, and they need to get out more. I do not, however, wish to be squeezed into a pair of jeans like jelly, because that is gross. Nor am I willing to pay a fortune; I could go maybe up to $50, but not above. Size between juniors 9-11, womens 10-12 (flexibility of inseam a plus).
Any recommendations, flist?

You could go to a shop that sells women's jeans and ask them for advice - they are the professionals, after all.
