the_dala at 08:43pm on 03/02/2009Tuesday night from 8 to 9 PM has been an interesting hour. Dad and I are watching two different shows, separately yet together - one of us on "The Biggest Loser" in the basement, the other on "American Idol" in the kitchen. In the following conversation (held through the open stairs), I'll leave you to guess who was responsible for which program.
"Hollywood Week!"
"Oh, the other ones are coming back from their homes. I hope they weren't eating hot dogs like that one guy."
"Homeless Girl is through! I repeat, Homeless Girl is through! Oh, and that girl who lost her house in a flood."
"What about the girl whose parents died, with the dirty feet?"
"That is Homeless Girl. Remember? She lived -"
"IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIIIVERRRRR!"
"The green girl's my favorite, what happened with the other green girl?"
"She didn't do too well, she cried and her friend told her to shut up."
"That's because she's AWESOME."
"Yeah."
"The adorable Puerto Rican guy made it, and so did the Indian guy with the big R&B voice omigodIthinkIlovehim."
"The one with the scarf? ...TWO POUNDS! You didn't gain any muscle!"
"They always say that. Oooh, Robert Downey Dead Wife Jr. and his best friend are through!"
"I saw that, but I didn't see them sing."
"They were great and SO CUTE. Did Carla do well so she's not gonna have to cut a bitch?"
"Twenty pounds! She's great."
"Blind Guy made it! Top Ten, I'm telling you now - Final Two, even. Damn, Bikini Girl is a ho."
"I bet Simon put her through. What about the Osmond?"
"They haven't shown him yet. Being born an Osmond is the greatest disadvantage of all. Oh, there he is! How could you turn away an Osmond, really? Okay, I'm done - who do you think's going home - OH DAMN!" (one of the younger women is giving one of the big guys a piggyback ride at Jillian's insistence)
"How did that even get started? Oh, Joelle's not doing anything again."
"Carla is going to kill her if they get sent home. I am not even kidding."
"Carla is an animal." (in awe)
Okay, I'll quit now. Who said watching TV isn't an interactive experience? Reality TV, no less. I even got some exercise running back and forth from the stairs! Jillian would be so proud. Okay, no, she would sit on my weight machine and yell at me and make me cry, but still.
