Cannot recommend this one highly enough - I laughed like a drain through the whole thing. Quote: "“I think what would disturb me the most is that after you peel away the surface layer of: ‘I’m so awesome! I’m so awesome! Ow! I just got punched in the face! Hey! Look! Boobs! I’m so awesome! I’m so awesome! Ow! I just got punched in the face.’ that I would just be staring at a vast black hole of nothingness.” (Three guesses as to who's speaking to whom, and the first two don't count). It's so entertaining that it's living outside the cut.

A Moment of Our Silence by keelywolfe - Spock and Kirk walk the empty halls of the Academy post-movie. This is crazy good - hot and painful and exactly right.

The Spaces That Were Meant To Be Filled by riparian_this - Spock mind melds with Spock Prime and learns about their past and future.

Desire by cleo2584 - one of my favorite takes on the cave scene. Economical, but packs a punch.

Escape Velocity by teinm_laida - Kirk's not adjusting too well after the mind meld. Pre-slash mostly, opens with nice Bones voice.

Wherein Kirk and Spock Have Inadvisible Drunken Sex by ifyouweremine - the title pretty much says it all. Deliciously PWP.

The Expected Kind of Surprise by raphaela667 - cute ficlet from Kirk's POV (established relationship).

Five Times Kirk Tried to Seduce Spock, and One Time He Succeeded by belmanoir Y'all know I love me some Five Things fic. This is actually K/S Original Recipe, but I've included it because a. it's hilarious and b. it actually upped the prescription on my slash goggles for TOS.

Methodology and Differential Equations by scy (transtempts - We're back at the Academy after the movie ends, and Jim is courting Spock/Uhura. There is academic stuff, a more thoughtful Kirk, carrying Uhura's books and defending Spock's honor in a bar brawl - oh, it's just wonderful.

untitled meta-turns-into-fic and Only This and Nothing More by ninhursag/vaingirlfic - Hot like burning. Good characterization, and HOT like freaking BURNING.


Kirk/McCoy

Positive Reinforcement - An early gem from the Kink Meme. Prompt: Kirk distracts McCoy from his fear of flying. Hot like a very very hot thing. Also funny. Which seems to be par for the course for this ship - is it any wonder I love it?

I'm Just a Jealous Guy by londondrowning - McCoy is feeling insecure. Actually, the author's summary says it best: "Leonard McCoy is thirty-one and he’s too fucking old to be anybody’s jealous boyfriend." Absolutely perfect Bones voice, perfect Kirk, perfect them-together.

Also by londondrowning, The Illustrated Man - Response to the Kink Meme, prompt was Kirk/Bones, tattoos. Ups the porn content to a significant degree. Still totally awesome.

Faith by azelma - K/S established relationship, moving toward Kirk/Spock/McCoy (yes PLEASE). McCoy is a grouchy bitch and I love him.

This is really fun, you guys. I like being fannish, and there is some great fic being written. I even changed my layout (against which default!Starbuck looks great, so yay. I think she's sticking around for awhile).

Also, did you know you can watch ST:TOS on CBS.com? All three seasons, no lie. I think they're the remastered versions, even (which as far as I can tell just means shots of planets actually look like planets and not paper cut-out).
