I present to the board The Theory of Intergalactic Awesome.

Hypothesis: Seeing "Star Trek" on a six-story IMAX screen will be more awesome than seeing it on a standard theater screen.

This theory was tested and found to be unsatisfactory.

Conclusion: Seeing "Star Trek" on a six-story IMAX screen inside the National Air and Space Museum* is infinitely more awesome than seeing it anywhere else on Earth. Including the White House. If you saw it on the moon, that might maybe be cooler. But not by much.





*so what if it's the smaller one by Dulles Airport it's still really fucking cool and there are jets and shuttles and an observation deck STFU

The astronauts on the International Space Station saw it...well, in space. I'm not sure if they were close enough to the planet for it to count as being on Earth, though.

I must ask: Have you found any icons of Sulu's sword? Still, or - have mercy - a .gif of it unfolding and interlocking?

SO YES. Star Trek on an IMAX screen kicks all kind of (non astronaut) ass. ^_^ I've got to go again before they stop showing it later this week.
