Okay. So I've been watching "American Idol" for what, seven straight years now.

Adam Lambert (and Kris Allen too but mostly Adam) singing "We Are the Champions" with the surviving members of Queen is my favorite performance on this show, ever.

GODDAMN THAT WAS AWESOME. And you know Freddie Mercury would've loved it.

I will be back when we have our Idol.


Look, I like Kris, but that was bullshit. WTF AMERICA?

Damn, I'm more upset about this than I thought. I don't dislike Kris, honest. It's just, Adam was such a great performer and he never had an off week, vocally - the closest he came was the Moroccan sex version of "Ring of Fire," and that was more weird as fuck than actually bad. It certainly wasn't boring. I'm honestly trying to remember more than a couple of songs Kris sang all season. "Heartless" was awesome and I love him for doing "Falling Slowly" instead of culling from the Overplayed Songbook like everybody else (including Adam, to be fair). But he's just so...meh. Pretty much everything sounded like Affable Guy with Guitar. Adam has fucking range.

::wanders off grumbling:: America gets the Pickler it deserves, as Jacob would say.

At least it wasn't Gokey. And at least Adam doesn't have to record the shitty coronation song. And at least I sort of love David Cook now even though I was completely ambivalent last year.

It was a good run, all things considered.
