For the past two days, I've been out at the sites rather than at the central office. This means using the shared computers owned by the county school system rather than my own, and therefore, no LJ.
In order to keep my brain from exploding of data entry, I started emailing bits of fic back and forth to myself. Like, I'd type up a couple of bullet points (as opposed to an organized outline; this is how I do story notes) on Yahoo, send it the very same Yahoo address, and then reply to that email once I got struck by a new bit of dialogue or plot point.
Except I wasn't doing this with the fics I am already writing. There are now no fewer than three new files open on my laptop, ALL OF WHICH I first thought up, went "Oh, I'll never write that!" and then...wrote that.
There's the first one with maybe 2500-3000 words of notes (all of yesterday, basically), which is an enormous let's-torture-Bones angstfest (IN ADDITION TO THE PREVIOUSLY EXISTING LET'S-TORTURE-BONES ANGSTFEST) and in which I am now so emotionally invested that it will definitely be finished. Then today, I started working out the novelization-inspired idea of Bones attempting to restrain Kirk in his quarters (before Delta Vega) and getting a hypospray in the neck for his trouble. And lastly, I started wondering why I'm not particularly interested in Kirk/Spock/McCoy OT3. And then I thought about what if Kirk and McCoy were in an established relationship, and all three of them realize that Kirk and Spock are drawn to each other but Kirk's not about to leave McCoy; and then Spock goes into pon farr and Kirk is like "I HAVE TO SAVE HIS LIFE BONES" and McCoy goes "...okay, but only if I get to watch." Except it's way less cracky and more serious business in my head.
Sometimes, when I'm really desperate and a line pops into my head in the car, I'll save it as a text message on my cell phone.
I HAS A SICKNESS. SEND CHOCOLATE.

says the girl who just wrote 4000 words of fic involving joanna's view of Bones and Jim's relationship over the years.

Mine is almost the opposite - Joanna dies (the first one). Hence the angstfest.

Bones and angst are two things that I should not enjoy together but I DO and as much as I love Joanna, I would read that fic like whoa.

I HEARTILY APPROVE your new layout.

(Yeah. I arranged the letters that way on purpose. Would you prefer SKUM?)

If you want another plotbunny, I keep thinking about Kirk & McCoy dancing, whenever we do 'Fly Me To The Moon' at line dancing.
Hmm... maybe I should try writing it myself...though I'd to get it beta'd by someone who's seen the film, lol.

Gotta write Jack kidnapping James to take him dancing first though!

I can only sympathize, woman. I just spent the last 7 days writing 9400 words because the second character has decided to live in my head loudly and the damn story isn't even his pov.
My email loves me most of all. I'm constantly doing that. It really is normal. Or as normal as we get. :)
