So this is at least the fourth Reboot fic I've read which involves a fair/carnival/amusement park, which I think is enough to constitute a subgenre, yes? And this, my friends, is my favorite.

It's James Tiberius Kirk Day in Riverside, Iowa and the things I love about it, I cannot even name them all. Tractor pulls. Uhura hustling carnies. Chekov and funnel cake. Fireworks. Line dancing. And Sam.
Now I am off to plot who I can drag to the fair with me this year. August 14-22, 61st Anniversary! Oooh, maybe I'll venture out to Timonium to the state fair - I have never been that hard-up for candy apples and claw machines before. I have to get in shape for Renaissance Fair season somehow - must start integrating food-on-a-stick into my diet right now so I don't go crazy at the first whiff of the deep fryer.
Do you have any favorite fair memories, flist? I think mine is a tie between the first and only time I ever got stung by a bee (which my dad soothed with chocolate ice cream), and the time Jessie won a t-shirt at the pig race. And the first time we ever rode the Zipper and swore we wouldn't go on it again until we were thirteen (I think we must've been ten or so). Once I won a picture of a tiger and a white tiger at the balloon pop. True or false: it is currently hanging on my bedroom wall.
