the Dalaverse

Oh my god you guys, I finally got my new desk at work (the desk that's been promised for about nine months now). I was using this ridiculous oversized table-desk; it was basically good for absolutely nothing. It had no drawers, just a dumb shelf that I was always barking my shins on because I couldn't stretch my legs out, plus the keyboard had its own low shelf that was NOT ATTACHED TO THE DESK so I was always knocking it onto the shelf below, which is metal, so it clanged real loud. Now I have actual leg space and drawers that lock!

But the most important thing?

My chair's back in the corner instead of facing the wall adjacent to the door, with the other two people in the room sitting behind me. Now there is nothing behind me but wall. Which means no one can see my monitor unless they squeeze between the filing cabinets and my desk. Which means no one can catch me reading porn at work anymore.

I'll give that a second to sink in, because I know out of all the people in my life, you guys will appreciate it the most.

And now I am going back to writing fic, because it's very slow now that the moving excitement has settled down. Remember how I said 'drabble or ficlet'? Yeah, the whole drabble thing was a false promise. Ficlet's even stretching it, at least for this one.

Oh, did I mention we're finally getting Internet and cable hooked up tomorrow? I CAN HAS INTERNETS ONCE MORE! (Which actually cuts down on my tendency to read porn at work, so it's really beneficial all around.)
