Watched "Easy A," and man, do I hope Emma Stone becomes a huge star. Her skills of deadpan are unparalleled and she is just delightful. It was a cute movie, a bit more "Glee"-esque campy than I was expecting, but Emma Stone is a good enough actress to pull it off. Penn Badgley's beautiful cheekbones didn't hurt either. And Dan Byrd! I love Dan Byrd from "Aliens in America," which I doubt anybody even remembers. I may have to start watching "Cougartown" just because he's in it. And I like Amanda Bynes still, but...what the hell happened to her face? It seemed to be either bad plastic surgery or bulimia. I hate bullshit speculating on women's bodies but it really looked like exactly what happens to your face. I actually just googled to check and it seems she denied rumors of an eating disorder like five years ago, saying she had mono. I swear she didn't look like that in "Hairspray," though. It was kind of distracting and upsetting.
But mostly what I walked away with, beyond the overarching message of "your sex life is nobody else's goddamned business," is this:
Stanley Tucci is fucking hot.
YEAH I SAID IT WHAT.
I literally have never thought of him as a sexual being before, but playing Olive's dad involved tight henleys and surprising muscles and scruff and a cleanly shaved head (with an attractive scalp, which you need to pull that off) and sexy glasses and those funny little ears and gahhhhh, I wanted to jump him through the TV screen. Computer monitor. Whatever.
