goddamned pirates

Guys, should I have myself a PotC trilogy marathon before seeing the new one, or will it just make me sad that three-quarters of my story is missing? And should I bother with 3D? I didn't even see "Avatar" in 3D, ffs. It doesn't give me a headache, but I find quick-moving action scenes hard to follow (like the Jabberwocky fight in "Alice In Wonderland," which I only did because everyone else wanted 3D) and I really don't see the fuss over it. But I figure if I'm going to see a 3D movie now and again, this one would be it.

I think I might see it alone. It would either have to be alone, or with fannish people (at least vaguely fan-understanding people) - I don't know if I can deal with my ~emotions~, be they good or bad, around the non-fannish friends who might be willing to go. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT PIRATES OKAY.

...I just don't know about this whole thing, still.

I hear it's a simple storyline to follow, so maybe the 3D wouldn't be too distracting on this one.

I'll miss Will. And, God help me, even Elizabeth. :-(

I think I would have been overwhelmed if I saw it in 3D. I don't know if I'd watch the first three again before you see it. I did about a month ago and I sure as heck missed the characters who weren't there. Quite a lot. :(

I feel similar. I want to see it, but I want to see it with my people. I don't want to talk about whether it was good or not as we leave the theater, I want to have a Fandom Conversation with other PotC fangirls. Bah.

I'm not sure I'll go to the cinema at all. The film seems so predictable and it's already got terrible ratings... :/

I want to see it but I absolutely don't want to see it. OMG. There's no Will and Elizabeth!

The thought of seeing it without all of you makes me want to cry and fuck, I should be over that.

I saw a preview for it in 3D when I was watching another 3D movie, and while there were parts that looked really nice (walking through the forest, the mermaids) there were parts that were horribly cheesy, and not in a good way (a sword thrust through a door that came out of the screen towards you). I am torn about the 3D issue myself (and also the rewatch, if it comes to that).
