So many emotions, y'all. So. Many.
But it's 3 am so all I have time for:
The Battle of Hogwarts was fucking amazing.
Ron saying "Harry talks in his sleep. Didn't you notice?" might be my favorite Trio-shippy moment of the whole series. I love being able to get out of Harry's POV in the films.
Damn, I don't remember the book very well. Granted, I've only read it all the way through once. I totally forgot there was a Battle of Hogwarts II (Electric Boogaloo) after Harry's "death," so I was seriously concerned they'd cut Molly killing Bellatrix for like twenty minutes. They wouldn't dare, that got the biggest cheers. That and everything Neville did. Goddamn, we all love Neville so much, don't we? And thanks for the Neville/Luna bone, Yates!
Voldemort finally breaching Hogwarts with his Death Eaters, in broad daylight, was kinda anticlimactic. Especially because he got a little wacky. And that? Was the most hilariously awkward hug EVER. "Welcome to Team Evil, my boy! On Team Evil we HUG IT OUT!"
Dan was stellar. Oh, my heart. The scene with Harry's mommy and three daddies absolutely wrecked me. Floods of tears.
There could've been more Weasley twins. I think it will bother me less watching the two halves as one complete film. Likewise, I got impatient during the Gringotts sequence (though the dragon was beautifully done) because I just wanted to get to Hogwarts already, dammit.
The kids all back together in the Room of Requirement! That was marvelous. Seamus blowing shit up for the good of mankind! Neville! Dean! Luna! Cho! Lavender Brown (RIP)! I could easily watch the movie version of Neville's Seventh Year, probably more than I'd like to read the book.
McGonagall being the very baddest of asses, oh yeah.
I always forget what a great actress Helena Bonham Carter is. She was utterly convincing as Hermione-playing-Bellatrix, she had Emma's mannerisms down cold.
Who was that playing Aberforth? He did a decent job, but man, was that whole scene clunky. You could really tell that the filmmakers wanted to get to the battle as badly as we did. Again, I'm trying not to judge the first half without watching the movies back to back.
The age makeup was...not convincing. I mean, we've known these kids for what, twelve years now, we just fundamentally KNOW how old they are. And Dan Radcliffe is hardly bigger than an 11-year-old now, and couldn't they have padded Bonnie's costume and face just a little bit so she didn't look like a very tall young teenager? Sheesh. I wouldn't have wanted to see any other actors do the epilogue, but if they decided to film it they should've put more effort into it.
YOUNG LILY'S EYES WERE BROWN, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT. I'm not a book purist, I don't give a shit that they changed Harry's eyes from frog-green to blue. But if you're gonna say that Harry had his mother's eyes 87 times over the course of eight movies, for god's sake cast a blue-eyed little girl for the flashback sequences!

I did think that the epilogue worked far better on film than it did in the book--probably because on film they didn't show us every single couple that had gone the distance (reading that epilogue felt like having a hundred thousand possibilities closed off for me. I think that more than anything guaranteed I'd never write much in Potter fandom). I actually got the Kings Cross/Hogwarts Express imagery as a theme in the film, which I didn't in the book.
Snape wasn't served well by some of the small cuts and changes, IMHO, but OMG did Alan Rickman sell his scenes!

Yeah, Rickman really got a chance to shine here, finally. I love listening to him intone things, but they haven't had much else for him to do outside of his interactions with Harry.
