Crickets woke me up around 7:30 this morning, I flicked on my bedside lamp and lo, I still have power. And we always lose power. I suppose this is for the best, but I do feel a bit disappointed not to have read electronically by candlelight.

Everyone else okay? Irene's been downgraded but the winds are still a-blowing.

YAY for keeping power! That is great news, although yeah it might have been cool to read your Kindle by candlelight. *g*

I still have power too, so far, for which I am grateful and surprised. Storm is due to come ashore (at high tide omg) as a Cat 1 in two hours, about 50 miles from me. My hill is protecting me from the worst of the winds now, but the back-winds after the storm passes will come from a different direction, so we will see if the power stays on through those. In the meantime I'm reading fic and watching the maps.
