A couple of weeks ago I was checking TV listings (because I still can't remember when all the new things are on) and I noticed that Joe Maganiello was guest starring at "Two and a Half Men." It's a show I've never had the least interest in, but I downloaded the ep because I love me some Joe and finally watched it this morning.

So is this show always composed of 90% gay jokes, or did I just happen to pick a winner?

I mean damn, that was about the most painfully unfunny half hour I've ever sat through. I knew it was bad, but I didn't realize it was quite that bad. Why, Jane Lynch, why? I found it especially interesting that one of their "jokes" - Jane Lynch being hugged by creepy Jesus beard Ashton Kutcher and saying "Maybe I'm not gay" - is more or less the exact same joke made with Leslie Mann's character in "Modern Family" last week, only there it was actually funny. Because they have functional writing and acting and characterization, I suppose.

And Joe was only in it for one lousy scene and a second of the tag. Though at least he was wearing a suit and looked incredibly sexy, and I'll take what I can get until next season of "True Blood" and that Soderbergh movie about the strippers (porn stars? I can't remember but it doesn't really matter because Alciiiiide).

Speaking of which, I never did write up a post about Dragon Con, but I will at least share that I got to see him at one of the TB panels and he was utterly delightful. Apparently he was into the books and was so excited to audition for the part of Alcide that he went out and did all this research on wolves and werewolves - he named whatever that is that makes real wolves monogamous, for example, and rattled off a bunch of movies and actual legit science books. Also he's a Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan (he mentioned Watchers specifically, which is actually my dad's favorite Koontz book) and as a kid he used to pray to God to make him a werewolf. [livejournal.com profile] sangueuk and I were swooning all over the damn place. Basically he came off as an enormous nerd and I'm pretty sure he is my soulmate. Um, not to sound like a Snapewife or anything. I swear I didn't embarrass myself, I didn't even get to see him on the Walk of Fame because of bad timing (and how I burst into tears after shaking Carrie Fisher's hand and had to escort myself out of the room). Sadface. Hopefully he'll be there next year.

Strippers. Cannot. Wait. I mean, Bomer. Also Channing. And that guy from the novela that was on The Soup all the time.

Two and a Half Men is always like that. It's horrible.

You've heard all about Magic Mike, right?

Man, opening weekend of that movie is going to be CRAZY and people are going to write gross stereotypical bullshit trend pieces about haha ladies lusting over menfolk and there will be an insane fandom both fpf and rpf and it will be great. Besides, SODERBERGH is my FAVORITE.

Yeah, I dunno what even is that movie, but it's gonna be awesome.

It's just so weird. I watch Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother, and while those shows have their flaws they're nowhere near the dreck of Men. And yet that's the massive hit...
