the Dalaverse

Bit late and all, but I can't let the holidays pass entirely without comment. I've had a pretty good Christmas, all things considered. Unplugging myself for a day was a good thing. Spent some much-needed time with friends, then with my crazy family today and last night. Holding the babies and making them smile always makes me feel content in some deep down place. I think I did pretty well on the gift-giving front this year and got some unexpected things like a Kindle gift card from my aunt, an amazing cool winestopper made out of an old doorknob from my cousin, beautiful pearl earrings from my roommate, and a printer from my parents. Huzzah, I no longer have to waste paper at work printing out coupons and knitting patterns. And Dallas lost, which is always a bonus (she says while wearing Redskins snowmen earrings).

There is probably some inevitable post-Christmas bummerhood coming up, but right now I'm feeling okay-to-tentatively-hopeful that things will be looking better in the new year. Plus I've got a pair of kittens to curl up with, leftover Christmas cookies, a bitchin' collection of holiday tunes, several weeks of space_wrapped to catch up on, and the day off tomorrow. Could be worse.
