Oh my god. It must have been so scary and chaotic. Just caught a man on MSNBC talking about how runners are a close-knit community even at a huge event like this, and just having been involved in it for a short time, I've experienced how true this is. Whoever did this took what should have been one of the biggest days in the year for those people, one they've waited and worked and sweated for for months, and warped it (to say nothing of their supporters). One of the women in my training program was running Boston and I'm hoping she's okay - I don't know her last name so can't check, but I'm sure they'll know at the store tomorrow.
