I've been trying to mix it up in terms of artists, but come on. U2 AND Dylan. There is no possible way this song wasn't gonna make it.
April 14:
Love rescue me
Come forth and speak to me
Raise me up and don't let me fall
No man is my enemy
My own hands imprison me
Love rescue me
Many strangers have I met
On the road to my regret
Many lost who seek to find themselves in me
They ask me to reveal
The very thoughts they would conceal
Love rescue me
And the sun in the sky
Makes a shadow of you and I
Stretching out as the sun sinks in the sea
I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
Saying love rescue me
In the cold mirror of a glass
I see my reflection pass
See the dark shades of what I used to be
See the purple of her eyes
The scarlet of my lies
Love rescue me
Yea, though I walk
In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil
I have cursed thy rod and staff
They no longer comfort me
Love rescue me
Sha la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...ha la la...
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...sha la la
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la...
I said love, love rescue me
I said love
Climb up the mountains, said love
I said love, oh my love
On the hill of the son
I'm on the eve of a storm
And my word you must believe in
Oh, I said love, rescue me
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah...
Yeah I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
I said love rescue me
I've conquered my past
The future is here at last
I stand at the entrance
To a new world I can see
The ruins to the right of me
Will soon have lost sight of me
Love rescue me

I'm currently hanging around at amazon.com and dithering over buying stuff. I've never personally ordered anything online, though I've participated in a couple of manic Ticketmaster rallies ("CLICK NOW! CLICK NOW!") and Dad finally branched out into online shopping this past Christmas to get the import Heather Nova CD and "Return to Oz" on DVD (I SAID it was cool if he couldn't find them, but he had to play the hero, and of course I wasn't going to complain). And heaven knows I don't have any income at the moment, and just under $200 in my checking. But dude. "Cry-Baby" and "Ed Wood" aren't available on DVD, which ruins the slim chance I might have had finding them in stores. Blockbuster sucks, as usual. And the VHS edition are cheap as hell. $6.99! Used for $3.87! That's about what I'd pay for shipping, if I'm not mistaken.
I wonder if "The Elephant Man"'s out on DVD?
Oooh, it is. Of course that's something I could probably pick up at Borders, but as long as I am -- er, MIGHT be -- ordering stuff, why not? I wouldn't have to wait for it to come on Bravo anymore so I could have myself a good gut-wrenching weep.
Gahhh. Maybe. I don't know. An exams present to myself, perhaps.
"The Celluloid Closet." That's another one I want and probably wouldn't find in stores.
Man, I could go on...BUT I WON'T. The poor college student MUST. STOP. SPENDING. MONEY.
Waaaaaaant....

Oh, and over here in Alexandria, I'm pretty sure we have a copy of "The Celluloid closet" we could potentially loano out.

Eeee, that's a really nice offer, but I think I am going to just go ahead and order it. It's spring, right? Time to go all crazy! With the rampant spending!
