I had the weirdest dream. Just before I woke up this morning, so it's all fresh and vivid in my memory.

There was Orlando Bloom, and he (or some character physically based on him) was on a road trip or something across the country. He stops in at a bar or a sketchy restaurant with his buddies and somebody sends him an anonymous drink. When he gets back to his hotel room, these two old ladies are there waiting for him. They tell him that they know how tough it can be for a young, single man on the road (direct quote: "The wrist gets tired"), and that they'd be glad to lend a...hand. And then, praise be to all that's holy in the universe, I woke up.

Not that I think dream!Orlando would've accepted the kind offer, but you never know about these things, do you?

I also woke up with some J/W AU dialogue and a strong desire (ehehehe) to write smut, so there may in fact be a second chapter. Even though I said NO to it repeatedly.

Oh my god. She left. She really, truly left. And like so often happens on this show, what I want to see is not always what's true to the characters, and knowing that makes it mean so much more.

"American Dreams." Season finale. Jack and Helen watching Meg on the commercial, knowing that it's the last they're going to see of their daughter for a long, long time. Meg and Roxanne on the platform. Crying and babbling about haircuts and the locket, "this is a gift from Luke, but it's kind of the nicest thing I own, so here. There's a picture of us inside, 'cause I figured you wouldn't want to just look at me" and best friends saying goodbye, and both actresses deserve Emmys for this scene alone, and now I'm a sobbing mess and I hate Ryan Seacrest's stupid face because TV can be that great but this crap is what gets brought back season after season.

Time for the e-mailing campaign to begin. If this show dies, I'm never watching NBC again.

J/W, following the AU I wrote from [livejournal.com profile] veronica_rich -- literally a few hours after that one. And I strongly suggest listening to the Heather Nova song for which it is named. It'll set the mood juuuuust right.
