What the fuck.

I step outside to shake out the rug, completely forgetting about the outside door locking. I'm out there for no more than five or six minutes when fortunately my neighbor comes home and lets me in. In that time I managed to collect FIVE (5) mosquito bites.

One of them directly below my left eye.

I'm allergic enough to mosquito venom/saliva/whatthefuckever that bites always swell up to at least the size of a Cheezit on me. One time I had three or four all clustered on my torso and the surface area of itchy swelling was bigger than my hand.

They don't even really itch yet, but oh, that will come. And the one under my eye, I swear to god I look diseased. I have some three-year-old aloe sunburn gel, but that's about it. And it's way too close to my eyeball for comfort right now.

Mosquitoes are the absolute worst.

Wash the bites with hot water and soap right away. It's your best bet to stop the itching before it starts.

The skeeters are desperate this time of year, and hungry for your sweet, sweet blood.

Those particular fuckers must have been tiger mosquitos, which I've been bitten by in effing DECEMBER.

I'm so sorry, darlin'! Mosquitoes used to go miles out of their way to feast on me and hubby would never have a single bite. Now the tables have turned and he covers himself in repellent and I bask in his fumes, untouched.

I prefer Itch-X, but I don't know if they have that where you are. It's a gel and soooo soothing along with the itch relief.

Bad luck - sounds awful. Maybe try some antihistamine pills? I take them for my hayfever and they do help with insect bite itching as well, although not every brand works for everyone.

Oh gosh, so sorry! Stupid mosquitoes! Go bit someone else! I know oatmeal baths work for swelling and itching usually.
