I've figured something out.

All Jack Davenport characters need to get laid.

No, seriously. All right, I'm limiting this to the number of things I've seen him in, but rest assured I have gone above and beyond the call of duty to seek him out. Observe:

1. Commodore Norrington. So needs some lovin'. I honestly don't care who -- Jack, Elizabeth, Will, Gillette, Groves, Giselle, Governor Swan, Gibbs, (hey, I was on a roll with the G, it was hard to stop). The one thing guaranteed to make me happy in a PotC fic is if Norrington gets lucky.

2. Michael from "Ultraviolet." Let's give angst-boy a shag, please. Should one man suffer so much without a little sympathy nookie? I think not.

3. Peter from "The Talented Mr. Ripley." He counts because he needed to get laid very badly, HE JUST PICKED EXACTLY THE WRONG PERSON TO SCREW. Sigh. Oh Peter, so sweet, so sensitive, we all wanted you to find a nice Johnny Depp character instead of Matt Damon's pyscho.

4. Steve from "Coupling." Just -- so -- awkward around women. My god I love Steve. I would do in him a second. He's just so utterly clueless, and he tries so hard, and he makes the goofiest little faces, and he has a wacky best friend! STEVE FOR MY BOYFRIEND '04.

All Jack Davenport characters. All in desperate need of some sexual healing. Turn up the Marvin Gaye and let's get to it.

(Yes, I am aware that none of these people actually exist and thus I cannot give of myself to ease their pain. That's the really sad part.)

And the real thing -- the Dav himself -- is actually married, so it would be unethical to shag him.

's a cruel world, no?

Oh, most certainly. It will be captured on film for all time.

Hello. New to LJ but wanted to pop in a comment...^_^

I agree that it'd be nice to watch a JackDav character being happy for once! For the record, I wonder if anyone of his characters (other than Steve) had to worry about the Melty Man... @_@

Hallo. I realize I'm random, but I'm adding you to my friends list, if that's okay. We share the Norrington-love, apparently. :) [livejournal.com profile] eiluned linked to your Sparrington story, and even though I don't generally read fic, I spent the afternoon reading all of it. (Very *very* well done.) I am jealous of your other Jack Davenport viewing, might I add. :)

Hi! Thanks for popping in. You mean "Nail," yes? I've been writing it since November and it's been a really fun ride, so I love hearing that people appreciate it :)

I am jealous of your other Jack Davenport viewing, might I add. :)

Oooh, and I recommend ALL of it -- not just for the Dav-ness, but it's uniformly good film/television. "Ultraviolet" is like "The X-Files" meets "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and yet totally original (I think maybe my favorite type of vampire ever), "The Talented Mr. Ripley" has beautiful cinemetograpy, and "Coupling" is sort of "Friends"/"Seinfeld"ish, but more consistently funny than either.

Yup, "Nail." Very well done! I'll be along for the rest of the ride.

And yay for Netflix, because I will soon have in my hot little hands (I sound like a fangirl... I guess I am a little) pretty much the entire Jack Davenport oevre. Now if only I actually had *time* to watch them. (And I must say, my original Brit celebrity lust object was Sean Bean, and this was pre-Netflix and it was *much* harder to track down his stuff over here.)
