Haven't played in this universe in quite some time. The ole "Honey and the Moon" bit, unabashedly sappy, especially at the end. I give you lieutenant-lurve first, though. Sneaky!Gillette inspired by [livejournal.com profile] fabu ::smooches:: so she gets this dedicated to her lovely person.

Also, I LOVE MY ICON.

Guess what today is? Besides Election Day, I mean (GO VOTE. I don't have any poll stories to tell because I voted absentee, but I am still teh proud because this is my first. I still have memories of going with my dad and doing the little mock-ballot. One time it was all people with color names, and one of them was named Indigo Somethingorother, and I I got all excited because I thought it was Inigo Montoya. So there's your polling place story).

ANYWAY. I have decided that today is Random Snippets of Writing Seeing the Light Day. [livejournal.com profile] sinister_beauty did something like this awhile back, where she posted little fragments that may or may not grow up into actual fics. So I'm sharing stuff I've abandoned or gotten stuck on. Share back, if you like. And I have an awful lot of unfinished crap, so this may be a two-parter.

More later. Must to shower. Smelly.

I guess I really have to do this bio project now. Sigh. I spent all weekend and yesterday avoiding it, but unfortunately? Didn't go away.

I hate science. Have I ever mentioned that? Hate. It. More than math. Well, maybe not more than calculus. But definitely more tha algebra and trig.

What we have to do is pick four out of about fifteen scientific issues and describe each presidential candidate's position on them. It sounds easy enough, but where I'm running into trouble is actually reading the scientific journals so I can support my candidate. Because...I hate science. That kind of puts a damper on my level of enthusiasm and comprehension when reading about it.

Look, I've wasted ten minutes. Go me.

Auggggggh. This is totally worse than the Zola paper. I care about these issues, I really do. I just don't want to have to write about them.

Last class:

(Hatch explaining the Bush administration's Clean Air Act, which to sum up is horseshit)
Emily: It's more like the Not So Clean Air Act.
Dala: The Dingy Air Act, you might say.

*whine* Make it go awaaaay.

So this is it, right? Polls are starting to close. Number crunchin' time.

As the path around the lake goes up to the dorms, it splits off. The fork to the right of Monty goes to the residence halls, where I lived last year. The fork to the left goes (eventually, grrr) to the quads and townhouses, where I live now. Somebody wrote an encouraging message in chalk at this point in the path. It says VOTE, with NADER going off in squiggly lines into either side of the path, BUSH up the right-hand path, and KERRY down the left-hand path. I took the Kerry path four times today. I choose to see this as an omen.

Also, that funky smell at the pond? The one that's not regular stinky low tide? TOTALLY means that Kerry is going to win.

C'mon, share. What are your funny little good-luck charms and SIGNS from ABOVE?

And I'll be around on AIM all night if anybody wants to squee or weep.

A little relief from the OMG PANIC, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] greenabsinthe:

Indecision 2004 Blog

"Liberal Agenda:

Pledge allegiance...to FRANCE.

Consider new hairdo -- consult UN first.

Put finishing touches on plan to force all Americans to gay marry."

OH MEGAAAAAAN....

Despite a massive get-out-the-vote campaign this year, there are reports of voter disenfranchisement from around the country -- particularly, in this Halloween season, among zombies.

"Vote or Die" is a great slogan for the living," said one young zombie would-be voter in Ohio. "But what about the undead? Where do we fall in this equation? Since we're already dead, that doesn't really give us much of a choice. We want to vote, too. Voting, and BRAINS! BRAINS! I'm especially interested in environmental policy, and the reckless deficit spending of the Bush White House. And the availability of fresh BRAINS!"
